Overview

A Police Clearance Certificate or Criminal Record Check is issued by the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service of the Cayman Islands Police Force to certify that a person has no Criminal Record within a stipulated period of time in Cayman Islands. The records search will provide all the conviction and adjudication information, Cayman Islands (government agency) to enumerate any criminal records that the applicant may or may not have. Police Clearance Certificate Certifying that the applicant has never partaken in any criminal activity that led to the involvement of the Royal Cayman Islands Police Authorities, and is also required when a person applies for an immigration status to other countries. These certificates must be valid at the time of issuance of the visa or other immigration permit. Person applying for Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) are required to state the period of stay in Cayman Islands. Documentary proof of stay is to be provided. First Entry and Last Exit date STAMP is also required. All pages of VISA (Colour Copy). It is issued to any individual who reside more than 6 months in Cayman Islands.


Procedure of Getting Clearance Certificate from Cayman Islands

You will have to write a letter to the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service, Criminal Record Office stating that you require a PCC and that you are authorizing authorized agency to collect it on your behalf.Completed Application Form (Personal Particular). A set of 10 fingerprint impressions* taken by a qualified fingerprint officer at authorized agency lab. The original of the fingerprints must be posted with your completed application form. An acknowledgement receipt will be sent out once the Criminal Record Office receives the application form. Each application will be processed only upon receipt of all required documents; failure to comply with the submission of required documents within 10 days on receipt of application will result in delays in processing or applications to be rejected.The Department of Royal Cayman Islands Police Service, Criminal Record Office, at Cayman Islands takes 2 to 3 weeks to process the application if no criminal record found. The certificate will be posted to the forwarding address as indicated by the applicants in the application.


Documents Required for Cayman Islands Police Clearance Certificate

  • Applicant should complete all the required details in Prescribed Application form for Police Clearance Certificate
  • A photo copy of applicant’s valid passport (biometric page only) (Note: walk-in applicants are to bring the original documents for verification)
  • 4 recent passport-sized photographs that are 5 cm by 4.5 cm, borderless with a white background
  • Photocopy of document from relevant consulate/immigration or government authority/educational institution to establish that the certificate is required by such authority. All documents are to be translated to English if written in other language
  • Full set of Fingerprint Impressions obtained at our lab and duly attested by authorized agency


Processing Time for Cayman Islands Police Clearance

The issuing authority will give the original certificate in 15 days under normal mode of processing. The processing time will increases if a person was ever charged by the police.
