Overview

Criminal Record Check/Police Clearance Certificate is a legal registration which requests the criminal record, is issued by National Directorate of Police, Uruguay. The certificate of non-conviction may be given to foreign Nationals with a residence certificate attesting to their presence in Uruguay for more than 6 months. These clearances sometimes referred as Police check, Criminal Record Check. These Certificates must be valid at the time of Issuance of the visa or other immigration permit. PCC Certifies that applicant has never partaken in any criminal activity that led to the involvement of Uruguay Police authorities and is also required when a person applies for an immigration status to other countries. Person applying for PCC are required to state the period of legal stay and documentary proof of legal stay is to be provided.

Procedure of Getting Clearance Certificate

In order to obtain a PCC from Uruguay, Applicant required to fill the prescribed application form in all sections completed in BLOCK letters with Black pen. Obtained a complete set of 10 fingerprint impressions which are taken by a qualified fingerprint officer at our lab. The original of the fingerprints must be posted with complete application form. The applicant should furnish his or her full name, date and place of birth, period and places of all residences in Uruguay, including full addresses. Applicant must apply with completed application form (personal particular) provided at our lab for PCC. The certificate will be posted to the forwarding address as indicated by the applicants in the application.

  1. Police Certificate Request form-fully completed and signed
  2. Police Certificate Processing fee
  3. Standard passport size photographs (photo must be freely taken, taken directly off the face and show both ears with a light background.)
  4. Certified copy of passport visa page
  5. Fully Completed and signed application form
  6. A detailed letter explaining the purpose for which the PCC is required
  7. Certified copy of applicant’s work permit or dependent card (if applicable)
  8. Certified copy of Uruguay ID card.(if any)

Processing Time

Applicable time depends on the processing of application.
Processing time will increases if the person was ever charged by the police.
