The police clearance certificate confirms whether you have a criminal record or not. Police Clearance Certificate is a document that is issued by the Ministry of Justice in Cambodia, certifying that the applicant has never partaken in any criminal activity that led to the involvement of the Cambodian National Police, and is also required when a person applies for an immigration status to other countries. In Cambodia, the criminal record information is maintained at the Ministry of Justice.

Person applying for Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) are required to state the period of stay in Cambodia. Documentary proof of stay is to be provided. First Entry and Last Exit date STAMP is also required. All pages of VISA (Colour Copy).

It is issued to any individual who resides for more than 6 months in Cambodia.

The procedure of Getting Clearance Certificate

You need to provide a filled completed application form for a Police Clearance Certificate. A Residence Certification Letter from the commune (sangkat) office is required when applying for a Police Certificate. This is obtained from the local commune (sangkat) office where you reside/resided while in Cambodia. You must authorize our organisation to apply for the Police Certificate on your behalf. You should complete an authorization form. The completed form can be submitted at the Criminal Office Ministry of Justice. Full set of fingerprints of both the hands obtained from the applicant’s at our lab on prescribed fingerprint form, certified by our official stamp of our organisation. The completed application form with other supporting documents are directly forwarded to Ministry of Justice (Criminal Records Centre), in Cambodia. The MIJ (Criminal Records Centre) takes around 25 working days under regular service, to process the application if no criminal record found and after that they send the certified criminal record check (hard copy) via regular mail. In case you need it urgently through expedited services, the (MIJ) can send it to our Organization and then we forward it to you, via courier, at an additional cost within 15 days.

Documents required for PCC

  1. The application form or letter containing the information of the applicant.
  2. Full set of fingerprints of both the hands obtained from the applicant’s at our Lab.
  3. Copies of the first and last Cambodian visas showing dates of arrival.
  4. A Residence Certification Letter from the commune (sangkat) office where the applicant resides and/or resided whilst in Cambodia.
  5. Self-attested colored photocopies of your passports.
  6. Two recent passport size photographs.
  7. Completed Application Form (Personal Particular).
  8.  A detailed covering letter stating the period of stay in Cambodia and need for the said certificate.

Processing Time

We will give the original certificate within 25 working days under regular service at the mentioned address and 15 working days for expedited service.  The processing time will increases if a person was ever charged by the police.

Check-list of Documents              

Before leaving our office please verify the check-list that documents in order-

  1. An application, consisting of the written request for police clearance certificate.
  2. Prescribed Fingerprint Form (or a similar fingerprint form) duly attested by our Organization.
  3. The applicant will need to provide an Authorization letter for this process.
  4. Two coloured passport size Photographs.
  5.  A Residence Certification Letter.
  6. Photocopies of Two Identification Documents.
